I want to share some tips that help me get the year off to a great start!

To keep parents busy on the first day, set up a little display outside of your door with some cute first day of school signs that their little ones can hold up for a cute photo op. I'm not able to greet my families in the morning because I'm on playground duty, so this is a perfect way to let parents know that you care. {It's free further down this post}

Pencil boxes drive me crazy! The sound of kiddos rummaging through them makes me want to pull my hair out. I love using caddies for each table group. Use a cup to hold pencils, markers, and scissors so they don't topple over. I dressed up my caddies with a little ribbon a la hot glue gun! You can use sterilite trays or these bright containers to store crayons. All of this works for a table of 4-6.

Why use post-its week-after-week to make copy notes. Instead, use this tip that was featured in Scholastic Instructor magazine this summer! I've been doing this for almost 10 years and haven't looked back! Use clothespins and write your instructions on them with a sharpie. I don't need anything fancy!
