Summer time and the living's easy

easy teaching tools, back to school, so cal, easy teaching tools
I love teaching.  I love the beach. I love the amazing So Cal bloggers/teachers who I've become friends with.  We got together and decided to share a bit about our little towns and the beach life that so many of us are lucky to live in!
I'm so incredibly lucky to have been raised at the beach.  I swear I am so lucky to live in the cutest little beach town.  Some say it's the last small beach town feeling left in Orange County.  I live in San Clemente, a cute little town that's right on the border or Orange County and San Diego.

This sign is at the beginning of the pier, which is a short 2 minute walk for me from my house.
You can even hop on the train to spend the day in LA or San Diego.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time in the ocean.

Loved the sunsets when I lived above the golf course.

We've got an awesome beach trail that runs along the railroad tracks.  It's gorgeous anytime of the day, but sunset is always my favorite.

If you follow my Instagram, you now I love my little Marley and he loves our beach walks, when he's not acting crazy and trying to bark at EVERY SINGLE DOG we pass.  Walking with Marley along the beach is hardly relaxing, to be honest.  He is only about 13 pounds but when you put a leash on him, he becomes a tough guy and feels the need to bark at every dog, the larger the better.  Kids on skateboards, grannies, and cars.  It's embarrassing.  So…most of the time, I'll go for a run on my own and save the dog walking until the evening, when most people have gone home for the day.
One of the best beach memories I have of San Clemente is when my friend I were extras in a music video for our friends the Wheeland Brothers, complete with ukuleles, surfing, a beach bonfire, and hula dancers.  It's honestly the  BEST summer music and truly shows what SC is like!
Click here to feel happy and ready to plan your next beach vacay by watching the full music video I was in.  Thanks for letting me share a little about the town I grew up in.

  8. I miss the beach (grew up in NJ and now live in AZ). It is hard for many of my students to imagine the beach because many of them have not left Arizona but some have been to San Diego to go to Sea World, etc. Some have also been to beaches in Mexico (Rocky Point). Thanks for having this...

  10. Hey I am a teacher in Walnut now but hoping to relocating to South OC. I am so happy to have found your blog. I just interviewed for a kindergarten position in Laguna Beach and would love to have the opportunity to have you be an ed consultant in my classroom as it appears you have done that for many other Laguna teachers. :)
