Monday Made It Linky Party: How to dye clothespins

How to make clothespins prettier!
I've seen so many bloggers prettying up their clothes pins with dye or washi tape. I use clothespins for everything from classroom management to organizing copies. So why not make them cute?

I bought these at Kmart for about 4 bucks {they're also 99 cents at my local 99 cent store} and the dye was about 2.68.
I grabbed one of those throw-away containers, filled it with water and poured in the entire bottle of Rit dye.
I tossed in 48 of these little guys.

I stirred them up pretty good!
They're dyeing themselves. Word to the wise: don't shake them up. The lid does leak and I may or may not have learned the hard way. I was going out of town for the night so I let these soak and let the dye do its magic!
The dye does stain so I set the pins on a paper towel that I placed on a plate {not pictured} and a plastic lid that was leftover from baking. They took a few hours to dry. I had guests coming over so I sped up the process by laying these in the sunshine.

After/Before
Stay tuned to see how I'm going to use these!
